The Vietnam Football Federation stated that it would temporarily suspend assigning duties to referee Tran Ngoc Nho in accordance with regulations and guidelines from international football organizations, as well as current VFF rules.

The VFF also emphasized that it will continue to closely monitor refereeing to ensure the integrity, objectivity, and professional quality of the tournament.

On the evening of May 21, immediately after the match against PVF-CAND in Round 24 of the LPBank V.League 2025/26, The Cong Viettel Club submitted a complaint to the VFF and the tournament organizers.

The team coached by Velizar Popov requested the organizers to review the penalty decision by referee Tran Ngoc Nho, as well as the incident leading to Kyle Colonna's yellow card.
