Even before his debut, Mourinho causes Real to lose more money due to an unbelievable mistake.

Jose Mourinho is preparing to rejoin Real Madrid, yet the postponement of this transaction is putting the Spanish giants at risk of paying an extra 15 million euros to Benfica.

Jose Mourinho Is getting very close to a sensational reunion with Real Madrid, but "The Special One" has inadvertently made the Spanish royal club pay a much higher price for this deal.

According to Portuguese media, Jose Mourinho has reached an agreement to coach Real Madrid under a three-year contract. However, the Bernabeu side's delay in finalizing official paperwork is making things more complicated than expected.

The biggest reason stems from the presidential election. Real Madrid. President Florentino Perez faces a real competitor for the first time in nearly 20 years, Enrique Riquelme. Due to prioritizing his election campaign, Perez has not yet been able to sign the final paperwork with Mourinho.

This delay causes Real Madrid to miss the opportunity to activate a release clause worth only 7 million euros before May 26. After that date, the buyout fee for Mourinho's contract with Benfica has skyrocketed to 15 million euros.

This gives Benfica a big advantage at the negotiating table. President Rui Costa now has the right to demand that Real Madrid pay the full 15 million euro fee, or force the Spanish club into tougher negotiations.

Nevertheless, Jose Mourinho remains fully determined to return to the Bernabeu. The Portuguese strategist sees this as an opportunity to complete an "unfinished mission" after his tenure at Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013.

During his first term, Mourinho helped Real Madrid win La Liga with a record 100 points but could not bring home the historic 10th Champions League title. In this comeback, he is expected to restore "Los Blancos" to a dominant position in Spanish football.

On the flip side, Benfica is urgently looking for a replacement. After being rejected by Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese club is now turning to Fulham coach Marco Silva to prepare for the post-Mourinho era.
