SLNA coach reveals the key factor that helped the team successfully avoid relegation

Coach Van Sy Son commended young goalkeeper Cao Van Binh following the win that officially kept SLNA in the top flight.

SLNA officially achieved their relegation survival goal after a narrow 1-0 victory over Becamex TP.HCM in Round 24 of the V.League. After an emotional away match, coach Van Sy Son could not hide his joy as the Nghe An team overcame a difficult period to secure their fate with two rounds remaining.

Speaking at the press conference, the 1972-born tactician admitted that SLNA had faced immense pressure after earning only one point from their last five matches. Therefore, the win against Becamex TP.HCM was particularly significant for the team's morale. "I feel very happy right now because we only had one point in the last five games. Although survival was within reach, we still tried to take it game by game to have control over our destiny. Today, I must say I am very grateful to the players for showing what I can only describe as resilience."

Coach Van Sy Son believes the key to SLNA's success in overcoming difficulties lies in team unity and understanding toward young players. According to him, the current squad of Nghe An possesses a strong fighting spirit, and with proper guidance, they are ready to give their all for the colors of their homeland.

Beyond the team's collective performance, Coach Van Sy Son also gave special praise to young goalkeeper Cao Van Binh. The SLNA manager stated that since returning from national team duties, Van Binh has matured both technically and mentally. "You all know Cao Van Binh—when he came back from the national team, he had already contributed to the national side. When Van Binh steps onto the field, all the players feel more confident. Day by day, he is showing his improvement. I congratulate him."

According to Coach Van Sy Son, the presence of Cao Van Binh in goal not only provided defensive solidity but also boosted the entire team's confidence. The young goalkeeper, born in 2005, is gradually proving his crucial role in SLNA's successful relegation survival this season.
