HLV Carrick expressed one thing that MU fans have been waiting for regarding Bruno Fernandes

Manager Michael Carrick is confident Bruno Fernandes will remain at Manchester United during this summer transfer window, having seen the club captain establish a fresh assist milestone in a Premier League campaign.

During the 3-0 victory over Brighton in the final round of the 2025/26 Premier League season, Bruno's corner kick was headed home by Patrick Dorgu to open the scoring, before the Portuguese midfielder himself added United's third goal. With that performance, Bruno ended the season with 21 assists and 9 goals in the Premier League.

The 31-year-old star currently has a release clause worth £56 million for foreign clubs, and it is not out of the question that a major European side might consider sending an offer to sign the Portugal international.

However, Carrick believes that Bruno is still happy at Old Trafford and is willing to stay for at least one more season. Carrick shared when asked whether Bruno would remain a Manchester United player for the upcoming campaign:

He has a huge influence on us. Bruno is the captain and always leads the team in many different ways, so I have no reason to think he will leave.

We love what Bruno has done, and he loves this club too. You can see that clearly. Bruno wanted to play in the match against Brighton, and he always wants to feature in every game because he is enjoying his football. That is wonderful.

A year ago, Bruno Fernandes came very close to leaving Manchester United for Saudi Arabia. However, the Portuguese midfielder responded with the best season of his career at Old Trafford, winning the “Player of the Year” award from the English Football Writers' Association (FWA) as well as the “Premier League Player of the Season” title.

After the final whistle at the Amex Stadium, Bruno called all Manchester United members to approach the away section to thank the fans. Then, his teammates pushed him forward to receive applause from the Red Devils supporters.

With his brilliant form and increasingly evident leadership role, Bruno Fernandes is showing that he remains central to Manchester United's rebuilding plan under Michael Carrick.
