Premier League Finale: Cherries and Dark Horse Qualify for Europa League, Blues Finish Tenth Without European Football, B Fernandes Sets New Record with 21 Assists

At 23:00 Beijing time on May 24, all 10 matches of the final round of the Premier League season kicked off simultaneously. Following the 38th round, the campaign ended with mixed emotions. All spots for the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, as well as the relegated clubs, were confirmed.

  • Premier League champion: Arsenal, securing the title with a round to spare, ending a 22-year wait.
  • Five teams qualified for the Champions League: Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Liverpool.
  • Two teams qualified for the Europa League: Bournemouth and Sunderland (promoted side). In the previous two seasons, all three promoted clubs were relegated, but the Black Cats played the role of dark horses this term.
  • Brighton earned a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifiers, while Chelsea finished tenth (with no European competition to play).
  • Three teams were relegated: West Ham United, Burnley, and Wolverhampton Wanderers (Chinese-owned). Tottenham avoided the drop on the final day, and the top five European leagues now have no Chinese-owned clubs.

Premier League Golden Boot: Erling Haaland with 27 goals (including 3 penalties). Premier League assist leader: Bruno Fernandes with 21 assists, surpassing Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne (20 assists), setting a new single-season record. David Raya kept 19 clean sheets, winning the Golden Glove for the third consecutive season.

Premier League farewells: Pep Guardiola left after 10 years at Manchester City; Bernardo Silva and John Stones also departed upon contract expiry. Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Casemiro, Kieran Trippier, Seamus Coleman, and others also ended their Premier League journeys.

The three promoted teams for next Premier League season: Coventry City, Ipswich Town, and Hull City.
