Targeting Real Madrid for midfielders! Manchester United once signed Casemiro for 70 million euros, now eyeing Tchouameni.

Sometimes transfer activities are quite interesting. Manchester United tends to focus on Real Madrid when searching for midfielders. The 34-year-old Brazilian midfielder Casemiro's contract with Manchester United ends this season. Due to his high salary, Manchester United is not interested in renewing his contract, meaning Casemiro will become a free agent this summer transfer window and can join any club without a transfer fee. Manchester United needs to sign a new midfielder, and this time they are targeting another Real Madrid player: the 26-year-old French international Tchouameni.

In the summer transfer window of 2022, Real Madrid first signed Tchouameni, the Ligue 1 tackling leader, from Monaco for a transfer fee of 80 million euros. In the same transfer window, they sold Casemiro to Manchester United for a transfer fee of 70.65 million euros.

According to BBC reports, Manchester United intends to strengthen the midfield position this summer by targeting Tchouameni, replacing the spot left by Casemiro's departure, allowing the two former Real Madrid midfielders to complete a succession at Old Trafford.

Personal opinion: Tchouameni is considered a non-transferable asset for Real Madrid. Manchester United would find it difficult to purchase Tchouameni from Real Madrid unless they present an irresistible offer, including transfer fee and financial terms, that satisfies both Real Madrid and Tchouameni.

Note: Tchouameni is currently 26 years old, valued at 75 million euros by Transfermarkt. His existing contract runs until 2028, with two years remaining, and his current annual salary is 12.5 million euros (pre-tax).
