Coach Vũ Hồng Việt confirms the objective of guiding Nam Định Club to overcome Selangor in the Shopee Cup semifinals.

Despite facing considerable difficulties domestically, Nam Định Club is displaying a completely different form in this season's Shopee Cup. The Vietnamese football representative performed convincingly in the group stage, maintaining an unbeaten record with 4 wins and 1 draw to top Group B. Notably, Coach Vũ Hồng Việt's team even ranked above Johor Darul Ta'zim, Malaysia's top club which was highly rated before the tournament.

One of Nam Định's greatest strengths is the brilliant form of striker Nguyễn Xuân Son. The main scorer of the Nam-based club leads the top scorers list with 7 goals, becoming the most formidable spearhead in the attack. His diverse finishing ability, speed, and tenacity in the penalty area make Xuân Son the primary hope whenever Nam Định enters major matches.

In the semifinals, Nam Định's opponent will be Selangor, a very strong Malaysian representative. This is considered a challenging test as Selangor possesses a fast-paced style, robust physical foundation, and sharp attacking organization. With the home advantage in the decisive match and Xuân Son's high form, the V-League representative has every right to dream of a ticket to the final.
