U17 Malaysia vs U17 Vietnam

U17 Malaysia secured their spot in the 2026 Southeast Asia U17 Championship Final after a convincing 3-0 victory over U17 Laos in the semifinal. The match quickly turned favorable for the yellow-shirted representatives when U17 Laos received a red card as early as the 6th minute. From a penalty spot, Yusuf opened the scoring before Aniq Thaqif and Muzakif added goals successively, allowing Malaysia to completely dominate the game. Throughout the remainder, they maintained pressure and denied their opponent any chance to reverse the situation.

On the opposite side, U17 Vietnam staged an impressive comeback by defeating U17 Australia 2-1. Despite conceding an early lead, the players under Coach Cristiano Roland remained calm, reorganized their game, and equalized late in the first half thanks to a headed follow-up goal by Manh Cuong. In the second half, U17 Vietnam continued to play proactively and secured the decisive winning goal by Nguyen Luc from a well-executed set-piece situation. This victory not only propelled U17 Vietnam into the final but also affirmed their resilience and clear progress. The two teams will meet again in the final match, having previously faced each other in the group stage where Vietnam defeated Malaysia 4-0.

U17 Laos vs U17 Australia

U17 Laos enters the third-place match following a 0-3 defeat against U17 Malaysia in the semifinal, in which they had to play with a player deficit very early on. Despite their efforts, this representative could not create an upset against the superior opponent. On the other side, U17 Australia suffered a 1-2 loss to U17 Vietnam despite being the team that scored first. They started well but could not maintain the advantage and allowed their opponent to turn the game around. Therefore, the third-place showdown is expected to be more balanced as both sides are determined to conclude the tournament with a victory.
