Vietnam U20 Coach Draws Lessons

The 0-4 defeat against Japan in the Asian Championship quarter-finals provided many lessons for the Vietnam Women's U20 team.

Coach Okiyama Masahiko draws lessons with his players after the match

"I am very satisfied with the team's performance today. The players understood the tactics and executed them well, though there were still a few unfortunate losses. With such a display, I am very pleased.

The strength is that all the players are united and play fiercely, not only defending but also daring to challenge with counter-attacks.

The weakness is that despite playing very hard, in some situations the players still lose focus. For example, in the second conceded goal, we couldn't keep up with the situation; or in the last 2-3 minutes of each half, there were still gaps.

I know there was a change in the regulations, and reaching the quarter-finals was within the planned target. I am very happy to achieve that goal. Vietnamese football is developing and we will continue to strive to go even further," Coach Okiyama Masahiko affirmed.

Coach Le Huynh Duc defends Tien Linh

"My career also went through many periods without scoring, not just once. Players always have ups and downs. Tien Linh needs time to regain his form. I and the whole team are supporting Linh to play better.

Bringing Tien Linh onto the field late was because I wanted to prioritize defensive options. However, we are facing a difficult problem lacking a target striker – someone who can hold up, act as a wall, and control the ball well like foreign players. This is something we need to find ways to fix.

This is the worst match we have played since the start of the tournament. After conceding a goal, the players lost focus and could not maintain their style of play.

The loss against Thanh Hoa greatly affected morale. The fault lies with me for not being able to motivate the players to perform better," Coach Le Huynh Duc shared after the loss to Hai Phong in round 18.

Vietnam Women's U17 Draws Friendly Match in Japan

The Vietnam Women's U17 team played their final friendly match during their training camp in Japan, facing a team from Aichi Toho University. The match consisted of two halves, each 45 minutes, and ended with a 2-2 draw.

Vietnam Women's U17 started proactively and scored the opening goal in the 5th minute. From Minh Anh's pass, Yen Linh controlled the ball neatly before unleashing a beautiful shot from outside the penalty area, putting the team ahead 1-0.

Later, the opponent utilized a wing attack situation to shoot directly, equalizing 1-1.

In the second half, Aichi Toho University went ahead 2-1 in the 57th minute. However, Vietnam Women's U17 played resiliently and scored the equalizer 2-2 in the 62nd minute thanks to Thanh Lam.

This draw concludes the friendly series of Vietnam Women's U17 in Japan.

HAGL Confident of Staying in the League

HAGL overcame the host Thép Xanh Nam Định at Thiên Trường Stadium. Goalkeeper Trung Kiên shared:

"We achieved a very convincing victory. The whole team put in great effort to overcome the difficulties in recent times. This victory will be a mental foundation for the upcoming matches.

Nothing is certain in the relegation battle when the gap is only 6 points. HAGL will rest, recover, and prepare well for the next match.

When playing away, we always aim to get at least 1 point and will strive in each match to accumulate points."
