The U17 Vietnam team arrived in Surabaya (Indonesia) last night on April 10th, officially beginning their journey to participate in the 2026 Southeast Asian U17 Championship with stable physical condition and enthusiastic spirit, ready for their opening match.
According to information from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), after nearly a day of travel, the entire team has arrived at the venue hosting the tournament.
Upon arrival, the team received meticulous support from the host organizers, with enthusiastic volunteers, and a fully arranged transportation system including buses, vans for travel, and specialized trucks for equipment transport.
The U17 Vietnam team is stationed at the Mövenpick Surabaya hotel, one of the international standard hotels arranged by the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) and the organizers for participating teams. From the airport, the team traveled about 45 minutes to reach their accommodation.

Due to the long journey, immediately after completing check-in procedures, the team quickly had dinner and rested to recover their physical condition, preparing for activities today, their first day in Surabaya.
According to the plan, this morning on April 11th, the team leader and representatives from the coaching staff will attend the pre-tournament technical meeting. Head coach Cristiano Roland will attend the press conference before the opening match of Group A, where U17 Vietnam is grouped with opponents Indonesia, Malaysia, and Timor Leste.
This afternoon, at 16:00, the U17 Vietnam team will have their first training session in Indonesia to finalize preparations for their opening match against U17 Malaysia. This match will take place at 15:30 on April 13th at Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium.
The 2026 Southeast Asian U17 Championship takes place from April 11th to 24th in Indonesia. U17 Vietnam is in Group A along with host Indonesia, Malaysia, and Timor Leste. The presence of two formidable rivals, Indonesia and Malaysia, predicts that the group situation will be highly competitive and unpredictable.
In the remaining groups, Group B includes Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, and Philippines; Group C features Australia, Cambodia, Singapore, and Brunei. Teams will play a single round-robin format to determine rankings.
The top three teams from each group and the best-performing runner-up will qualify for the semifinals, meaning each match holds decisive significance.
According to the schedule, the 2026 Southeast Asian U17 Championship will be held at two stadiums: Gelora Joko Samudro (Gresik) and Gelora Delta (Sidoarjo).
