Indonesian media claims unbeaten streak against Vietnam in Southeast Asian tournament

According to CNN Indonesia, the country's media is particularly emphasizing the confidence of the Indonesian futsal team ahead of the AFF Futsal Cup 2026 semifinals, as they prepare to face Vietnam on April 10. Notably, the outlet states that "Indonesia has not lost to Vietnam in the last three AFF Futsal Cup matches," thereby creating a significant psychological edge.

CNN Indonesia reports that the upcoming semifinal is a crucial encounter as Indonesia and Vietnam both aim for a spot in the final. "Indonesia will face Vietnam to compete for a place in the final," the newspaper emphasized, also noting that the archipelago's team has thorough preparations and a highly confident spirit.

According to statistics cited by CNN Indonesia, Indonesia currently holds an unbeaten record against Vietnam in recent regional competitions. "In the last three meetings, Indonesia secured two wins and one draw," demonstrating their superior results in recent head-to-head encounters.

Specifically, at the AFF Futsal Cup 2024, Indonesia defeated Vietnam 2-0 on their path to winning the championship. The goals were scored by Muhammad Syaifullah and Rizki Xavier, helping the team achieve their first regional title in the tournament's history.
