The victory over Bangladesh maintains Vietnam's U20 women's team's hopes of progressing, yet their less convincing display has led to divided views among Southeast Asian supporters.

The 1-0 victory by Vietnam's U20 women's team over Bangladesh's U20 women's team in the final Group A match of the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup not only secured crucial points but also revived hopes for a quarter-final berth.

On football forums, many fans noted that the U20 women's team from Vietnam controlled the match better, especially in the second half, but finishing ability remained a major weakness. Several opportunities were missed, leading to only a minimal win. One fan commented candidly: “A win is good, but Vietnam needs to score more goals”, while another opinion praised the opponent: “Bangladesh didn't play badly at all today”.

Additionally, many pointed out that Vietnam's U20 women's team's play lacked sharpness in decisive moments. “Vietnam controlled the ball well, but their finishing was too gentle”, another comment reflecting higher expectations from regional fans. Nevertheless, there were positive remarks acknowledging the team's effort under the pressure of needing a win: “The important thing is they still have a chance to advance, congratulations Vietnam”.
