At 20:00 on April 7, 2026, at the Nonthaburi Provincial Stadium, the second match of Group A in the 2026 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship took place. The Thai national futsal team (world rank 11) faced Myanmar (world rank 60).
In their opening match, Thailand defeated Timor-Leste 4-1, while Myanmar lost to Vietnam 0-4. In this match, coach Rakpol Sainetngam deployed the starting lineup consisting of goalkeeper Teerawat Kaewwilai, captain Itticha Praphan, Panas Kittiphan, Muhammad Usmanmusa, and Apiwat Chaemcharoen.
Immediately after the kick-off whistle, Thailand proactively pushed forward to attack. In the very first minute, Itticha Praphan attempted a shot but sent the ball wide of the goal. At the same moment, Apiwat Chaemcharoen had a one-on-one opportunity but failed to beat goalkeeper Ni Ni Tun.
In the 2nd minute, Apiwat intercepted the ball and passed to Muhammad Usmanmusa, who shot into the empty net, opening the scoring 1-0 for Thailand. Just one minute later, Itticha tried his luck again with a right-footed volley but was still blocked by the Myanmar goalkeeper.
Thailand maintained continuous pressure. In the 10th minute, Panas Kittiphan set up Apiwat for a shot, but the ball hit the post. By the 12th minute, Narongsak Wongwon had a shooting chance from a corner situation but still could not defeat Ni Ni Tun.
In the remaining minutes of the first half, Thailand created several clear opportunities but could not increase the lead and ended the half with a 1-0 advantage.
In the second half, the match situation remained unchanged as Thailand continued to dominate. In the 23rd minute, Muhammad Usmanmusa unleashed a long-range shot that passed the goalkeeper but the ball again hit the post. By the 29th minute, a series of opportunities continued to slip away with shots from Sarawut Phalaphruek and Usmanmusa.
Myanmar also had a few dangerous counter-attack situations, but goalkeeper Teerawat Kaewwilai played solidly to preserve the clean sheet.
In the 33rd minute, Thailand finally scored the second goal. Terdsak Charoenphong passed the ball for Sarawut Phalaphruek to finish skillfully, raising the score to 2-0.
After conceding, Myanmar switched to power-play and created some chances, notably a shot by Min Khant Thu but it did not beat the Thai goalkeeper.
In the final minutes, Thailand still applied pressure but no further goals were scored. The match concluded with a 2-0 victory for Thailand.

With this result, Thailand secured a full 6 points after two matches, officially qualifying for the semifinals. In the other match of the group, Vietnam defeated Timor-Leste with a score of 7-1.
Since both Vietnam and Thailand have already secured semifinal spots, the match between the two teams in the final round is only for competing for the top position in Group A.
