AFF sends a congratulatory letter to the Vietnam Women's Futsal Team for winning third place in Southeast Asia 2026.
The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has sent a congratulatory letter to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Vietnam Women's National Futsal Team after the team excellently achieved third place at the 2026 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Championship.
In the letter, AFF acknowledges and highly praises the resilient competitive spirit, efforts, and competitiveness of the Vietnam Women's Futsal Team throughout the tournament. The achievement of reaching the Top 3 is seen as clear evidence of the professional progress as well as the stable development of women's futsal in Vietnam in recent times.
AFF emphasizes that this tournament is not merely a futsal competition, but also an occasion to honor regional solidarity, shared values, and the development of women's futsal in Southeast Asia.
The team's achievement is an important foundation for future progress and success. AFF believes that the experience gained from the tournament will continue to contribute to promoting the development of women's futsal in Vietnam as well as in the ASEAN region, and expects the team to continue participating and succeeding in upcoming regional competitions.
For the second consecutive year, Thailand women's futsal advances to the final of the tournament, after missing the title for the first time when losing to Vietnam in the 2024 season. Therefore, the representative from the Land of Golden Temples approached the match against Australia with great caution, especially since the opponent had previously defeated Vietnam in the group stage.
Thailand achieves its first coronation at the regional competition, balancing the achievement of one championship in this tournament by Vietnam. Earlier, Vietnam convincingly defeated Indonesia 4-1 in the third-place match to secure the bronze medal.
