This is the 12th edition of the AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup, organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for women's national teams under 20 years old. This is the first time the tournament features 12 participating teams, and there will be no third-place playoff match. The top four teams will qualify for the 2026 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup.

The participating teams include Thailand (host), North Korea, Vietnam, Australia, India, China, Japan, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Jordan, Bangladesh, and Taiwan.

The Vietnamese U20 women's team qualified for the tournament as the winner of Group B, having reached the quarter-finals in 2004 and finishing 7th overall in 2024.

In the group stage, the 12 teams are divided into 3 groups; the top two teams from each group and the two best third-place teams will advance to the quarter-finals.

The quarter-finals will take place from April 11–12, the semi-finals on April 15, and the final on April 18 at Thammasat Stadium, Pathum Thani. If matches are tied, they will be decided by extra time and penalties.
