Coach Kim Sang Sik: The Vietnamese national team now has more attacking options.

Regarding the chance of winning at Thiên Trường stadium on March 31st evening, Coach Kim Sang Sik said: "Having secured qualification for the 2027 Asian Cup, in the match against Malaysia, the Vietnamese national team aims to win to prepare for the 2027 Asian Cup as well as to give a gift to the fans. The whole team has prepared and is ready."

In the first leg, Vietnam lost 0-4 to Malaysia. However, later the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) penalized the opponent for using 7 ineligible naturalized players, causing Malaysia to be handed a 0-3 defeat in both matches against Vietnam and Nepal. Coach Kim Sang Sik said: Malaysia lacks 7 naturalized players, but the Vietnamese team also does not have Đình Bắc. Nevertheless, with the current squad, the coaching staff and players of the Vietnamese national team are very focused on aiming for victory.

The Korean coach also praised the return of players who had been absent for a long time, such as Đoàn Văn Hậu. He believes these individuals have shown good form in V.League and deserve the opportunity; expects healthy competition within the squad to help improve professional quality, especially in defense.

Player Đoàn Văn Hậu said: Football always has wins and losses. The Vietnamese team's 0-4 loss in the first leg was a regrettable result, especially when playing away. In this second leg, Hậu and his teammates are determined to play their best to deliver a good match and bring victory to the fans.

Coach Peter Cklamovski of the Malaysian national team stated: "For the Malaysian national team, the goal in any match is victory. For 12 years, Malaysia has never beaten the Vietnamese national team away, so now we are trying to achieve this. The coaching staff and players of Malaysia are focused and striving hard to achieve this result." To prepare for the match against Vietnam, Malaysia had a successful one-week training camp in Thailand, received warm hospitality from the host country Vietnam upon arrival for the match. After the recent training camp, the whole team will concentrate on the match.

Malaysian defender Dion Cools shared: "The match against the Vietnamese national team is very difficult, but we have prepared thoroughly and are ready to face the challenges. With the national team, I always try my best to focus on doing my job well. This match is the same, I am very energetic and ready for this game. As a player, everyone wants to score for the national team. If there is an opportunity, I hope to seize it, but the team's interests are always prioritized."

According to the schedule, the match between the Vietnamese national team and the Malaysian national team will take place at 19:00 on March 31st at Thiên Trường stadium (Ninh Bình).
