Qu Bo's Youth Training Persistence for Ten Years – From Personal Label to Spiritual Symbol of the "Wind-Chasing Youth"

Special Contribution/Huang Xin Qu Bo hung up his boots and founded the Qingdao Wind-Chasing Youth Football Club, which has now been exactly ten years. Supported by the China Football Development Foundation's "Social Football Youth Training Quality Improvement Action Plan" public welfare project, this former "fast horse" striker who galloped across the pitch is now pouring his heart and soul into nurturing new generations of "wind-chasing youths," contributing to China's football youth training.

After officially retiring in 2017, Qu Bo declined generous invitations from Tianjin and other places, resolutely rooted himself in his second hometown Qingdao, and established the Qingdao Wind-Chasing Youth Football Sports Club in Liu Jiaxiahe Community, Jiushui Street, Licang District.

To discover highly promising football talents, Qu Bo always takes a hands-on approach, traveling to school competitions and youth training camps across the country for on-site selection. In 2019, during a school football event, young player Liu Runsong's agile performance and potential instantly caught Qu Bo's attention. That same night after the match, Qu Bo proactively contacted the child's parents, patiently communicating the philosophy and future prospects of football youth training, ultimately successfully persuading them to include this young talent in the club's梯队. After years of meticulous cultivation, Liu Runsong has now successfully been selected for the U15 national youth team, wearing the national team jersey on the international stage.

Qu Bo始终坚持"体教融合"的核心思路培养青少年球员，兼顾学业成长与全面发展。2021年，青岛追风少年俱乐部与莱西市教体局正式达成合作协议，俱乐部07/08、09/10年龄段梯队正式扎根莱西，开启体教融合的全新实践模式。近五年的深度合作，不仅让小球员们享受到训练、学业、生活的全方位保障，更助力球队连续四年登上中冠联赛舞台，与全国各地的顶尖青训队伍同场竞技。

From the艰难起步 at inception to the well-established system today, Qu Bo never imagined he would persist on the front line of youth training for整整十年. Over these ten years, the Qingdao Wind-Chasing Youth Club has gradually built a complete five-tier梯队架构 covering U9, U13, U15, U17, and U19, forming a youth training system覆盖全年龄段,累计培养超过1500名足球少年, and输送多名潜力新星 like Liu Runsong, Jiang Yinyu, Ma Mingyu, Lu Chengxuan, Li Xiang, Wu Yuhao, and Zuo Shuangrui to various national teams.

In July 2025, Qu波带领俱乐部13/14梯队远赴日本开展海外拉练。在他看来，走出国门对标先进青训理念，体验多元化足球打法，不仅能提升球员技战术水平，更能锤炼孩子们的心理素质与综合素养。此次拉练得到中国足球发展基金会的全力支持，球队顺利完成14天的高强度训练与实战比赛，与当地多支职业梯队交锋均取胜。

“High-quality training, high-quality matches” is the core principle Qu Bo constantly emphasizes and implements. In daily life, he often shares his own training experiences from his youth with the young players,坦言一个基础动作要重复成百上千次，过程枯燥却至关重要。He始终认为，如今的青少年球员拥有了远超以往的优质硬件条件，更要在训练精度、比赛质量、精神意志这些“软实力”上狠下功夫，打磨过硬本领，塑造优良球品。

Qu Bo's youth training journey has been fruitful. From the Jiaodong Cup, Mayor's Cup, to the Provincial Governor's Cup and the China Champions League, the young talents of Wind-Chasing Youth have一路突破、屡创佳绩。

培养优秀的青少年足球人才，专业教练的引领作用无可替代。作为青岛追风少年俱乐部的核心领路人，曲波的职业足球生涯，本身就是一本鲜活生动的青训教材。

Born in Tianjin in 1981, Qu Bo only formally接触足球 in fourth grade, yet凭借超乎常人的足球天赋与刻苦韧劲, he entered the火车头青训体系 before turning 13,开启职业足球之路。

In 2000, at age 19, Qu Bo debuted in the甲A联赛, scoring 8 goals in his rookie season and winning the league's最佳新人 award. In the 2001 Argentina世青赛, his巧妙的挑射攻破了 host Argentina's goal, and his风驰电掣的突破速度 made the nickname "Wind-Chasing Youth" resonate across world football. In 2002, he played in all three group matches for the national team at the韩日世界杯。

Behind his early fame, Qu Bo's career was also filled with挫折与遗憾: he曾无限接近加盟英超热刺队, but遗憾错失机会 due to work permit issues; in 2003,受邀赴荷甲费耶诺德试训, he suffered a骨折 in a热身赛。Over nearly twenty years of professional征程, experiencing all the酸甜苦辣 of the pitch, these unchangeable past experiences have been transformed by Qu波 into宝贵财富 for youth training育人。He not only teaches孩子们如何赢得比赛, but also用心引导他们正视挫折、学会成长,培养胜不骄败不馁的竞技品格。

“What children need most is never complex and晦涩的战术套路, but精准指引方向 at critical成长阶段。” This is a phrase Qu Bo often says. At the club, he teaches basic skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting, but更注重打磨球员球商,塑造健全人格,始终把品德教育放在青训首位。As Chairman Song Kai stated in his公开信, the赛场经验、扎实功底、职业精神与家国情怀 of veteran national team players are养分 that cannot be replaced by any textbook教程 or video资料。

To build a higher-level成长平台 for the children, Qu波特意邀请带领中国男足打进韩日世界杯的传奇名帅米卢担任俱乐部青训顾问。In summer 2023, Milu亲自莅临青岛,观摩追风少年梯队训练,结合自身执教经验,为青训发展提出诸多宝贵建议。

Qu Bo hopes to亲眼看着追风少年培养的孩子们早日登上职业联赛赛场。

“Football二代” is早已不是新鲜事 in domestic and international football. Football Association Chairman Song Kai said in his公开信 to retired national team players: “欢迎你们带动家人、带动球二代投身足球事业。”

Qu Bo is the most坚定的践行者 of this倡议。Now, his son Qu Jiahe, who is in sixth grade, also receives正规足球训练 in the Wind-Chasing Youth Club梯队。Qu Bo never gives his son any优待; if performance不达标 or状态不佳 in training, he照样要坐替补席反思。Qu Bo played as a striker in his career;发现两名队员更适合前锋位置 in梯队训练, he毅然支持儿子从前锋改踢后卫,一切以球队整体利益为先。

“Whether the child ultimately becomes a professional player不重要;重要的是我作为父亲,做好陪伴与引导,让他在足球里学会坚持、懂得做人。” Qu Bo's words are朴实无华 yet饱含深情。From the意气风发的追风少年 on the pitch当年, to the严谨执教、温情陪伴的教练与父亲场边如今, Qu波用一言一行诠释着言传身教的真正含义。
