The Vietnam U19 national team wrapped up their initial 2026 training session with a substantial victory over Xuan Thien Phu Thọ Club.
On the afternoon of March 28th, the national team Vietnam U19 completed their first training phase under coach Yutaka Ikeuchi with a friendly match against Xuan Thien Phu Thọ Club. This final "assessment" allowed the coaching staff to gain a comprehensive overview of the team's technical capabilities and tactical execution.
To facilitate player evaluation, the match was divided into three periods instead of following the usual format. This arrangement provided the coaching staff with additional opportunities to observe each position and test various personnel combinations.
Despite facing an opponent considered more experienced, the young players of Vietnam U19 displayed confidence in their gameplay. The red-shirted team maintained good control of the match, preserved their tactical structure, and created several dangerous situations near the opponent's goal.
These positive signs were clearly reflected on the scoreboard as Vietnam U19 secured a significant 5-1 victory. The five scorers for the team included Van Bach, Cong Hau, Viet Anh, Thien Phu, and Quoc Hoa.
After the match, the students of Coach Yutaka Ikeuchi actively approached to greet, shake hands with the coaching staff and opposing players, demonstrating a serious competitive attitude and respect for their opponents.
Following this match, Vietnam U19 will temporarily conclude their first training camp. The players will return to their respective clubs for continued training before regrouping in the near future to prepare for the important objectives of Vietnamese youth football in 2026.
