According to the latest report from Italian transfer expert Romano, Atlético's main striker, the 35-year-old veteran Griezmann, has decided to leave the club after this season and join MLS side Orlando City as a free transfer.

Romano states that Griezmann has already reached a verbal agreement with Orlando City. He will terminate his contract with Atlético Madrid one year early and join Orlando City as a free agent to play in MLS. The deal will become effective in July, with both sides expected to sign a two-year contract. Griezmann will wear Orlando City's number 7 jersey and become the team's star player. The contract is set to be signed this week.

Five years later, in the summer of 2019, he transferred to Barcelona for €120 million, but his development did not meet expectations. He was loaned back to Atlético Madrid and then officially returned to Atlético in the summer of 2023 for a transfer fee of €22 million, where he has played since.During his Atlético Madrid career, Griezmann played 448 matches, scoring 211 goals and providing 96 assists. He helped the team win one UEFA Europa League title, one UEFA Super Cup, and one Spanish Super Cup. As a key player, he won the 2018 World Cup and finished third in the Ballon d'Or that year.

His existing contract runs until 2027, with a pre-tax annual salary of €9.38 million. Griezmann will terminate his contract with Atlético Madrid one year early, a gesture of goodwill from the club to allow their veteran player to move to MLS for a lucrative opportunity.
