Former Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood plans to switch clubs again this summer, departing Marseille. His future club is undecided, but according to Corriere dello Sport in Italy, he has agreed to a transfer to Juventus. The next step hinges on whether the clubs can agree terms or if other potential suitors emerge.

The 24-year-old Greenwood has spent two seasons at Marseille, delivering outstanding performances, notably scoring 30 goals in all competitions this season. However, this does not mean his time in France has been smooth; in fact, he has frequently been involved in controversies, with his attitude during matches often questioned.
Thus, this talented player, whose short career has repeatedly been marred by controversy, plans to move once more. A source stated: "Mason (Greenwood) is not happy at Marseille. He is keen to move to Italy, knowing he cannot return to the Premier League at this time."
Greenwood's dream of returning to the England national team for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico is completely dashed. Thomas Tuchel's latest squad announcement still excludes him; this was the final pre-World Cup assessment opportunity. Not being in the 35-man list indicates he is not considered for selection by the "Three Lions" this summer. This also means Greenwood's potential destinations will not include any Premier League clubs, as the controversy surrounding him brings too much pressure in English football.
Currently, Juventus is seen as the club most seriously interested in Greenwood, viewing him as the ideal partner for Dusan Vlahovic, who is negotiating a contract extension to stay. However, Marseille paid €30 million for Greenwood, so they would require at least €50 million to sell him. Manchester United could receive a 40% to 50% share of the transfer fee, complicating the deal further.
Greenwood worries that Marseille might demand a higher price, potentially preventing his transfer. It is well known that Juventus and other Italian clubs currently lack funds and rarely make high-value purchases. For Manchester United, if Greenwood joins other rumored clubs, such as Atlético Madrid in La Liga or Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, their share of the transfer fee would certainly be larger.

Among these, Greenwood is said to be interested in returning to Spain to continue his career, particularly Madrid. He revived his career at the smaller club Getafe there, and Atlético Madrid may now need a replacement for Argentine international Julián Álvarez, whose stay next season is uncertain as Barcelona is interested in signing him.
Spanish radio station Cadena SER reports that Atlético Madrid's management highly appreciates Greenwood, and the player himself is willing to return to Madrid. Journalist Gonzalo Álvarez explained: "Greenwood lived in Madrid two years ago and was very happy there; he loved the city. He made many good friends in Madrid. So, he really wants to return, though he also has other options. Let's see what happens this summer, but sources at Marseille tell me the possibility of Greenwood joining Atlético Madrid indeed exists."
Whether he transfers to Italy or Spain, Greenwood will encounter many former Manchester United teammates. In La Liga, his former strike partner Marcus Rashford is striving to stay at Barcelona. Coach Hansi Flick stated that neither he nor the club are certain about the final resolution of Rashford's contract situation.
Barcelona has a €30 million buyout option for Rashford, but they hope to negotiate a lower price. Manchester United insists on no discount, otherwise they will recall the 28-year-old England international. Both sides are currently in a stalemate. Flick told Marca: "We need everyone's contribution until the season ends. What happens afterwards is still unknown; there is plenty of time because there's the World Cup. I trust the current players, including João Cancelo and Marcus Rashford, who have performed excellently. We will discuss later; it's not yet time to say who stays or leaves, because anything is possible."
In the last two matches, Rashford was placed on the bench but did not play. Some suspect this is Barcelona's tactic to lower the price, but Flick insists Rashford was rested due to not being 100% recovered from an injury. "He had some issues in recent days, but is now fully fit."

Rashford is likely to play in Barcelona's match against Rayo Vallecano, but despite scoring 10 goals and providing 13 assists this season, after Rafinha's return, the Manchester United star still serves as a substitute. Rafinha is Barcelona's most influential player; in the 25 matches he played, the team won 22 and lost only 1, while in the 20 matches he missed, Barcelona won 13 and lost 6.
