Kobbie Mainoo receives a significant reward from Manchester United immediately after joining the England national team.

Manchester United is said to be ready to increase Kobbie Mainoo's wages by more than four times through a new extended deal at Old Trafford, as reported by talkSPORT.

Additionally, Harry Maguire is also negotiating a one-year contract extension, with an option for an additional 12 months, as the club plans for the upcoming season. According to talkSPORT, Mainoo will receive a basic salary of around £120,000 per week in a contract lasting until 2031. Currently, the young midfielder is only earning £25,000 per week.

Besides the fixed salary, Mainoo can also receive additional bonuses, and if he continues to develop as expected, Manchester United even plans to propose a new extension for him in 2028.

Meanwhile, Maguire's current contract expires at the end of the season, but the 33-year-old defender is performing well under manager Michael Carrick, prompting the club to consider retaining him.

Both Mainoo and Maguire have just been recalled to the England national team in the 35-player list selected by manager Thomas Tuchel. Maguire hasn't played for the "Three Lions" since September 2024, and Mainoo has also been absent since the match against Ireland at the same time. Now, both have the opportunity to prove themselves to secure a spot for the 2026 World Cup through friendly matches against Uruguay and Japan.

Since Carrick took over as interim manager, Mainoo has started all 10 matches, playing the full 90 minutes in 9 of them (except the loss to Newcastle). Previously, he was not regularly used under Ruben Amorim. Similarly, Maguire was not a preferred choice before his injury, but has returned and started all matches under Carrick.

Speaking about Mainoo, Carrick highly praises the potential of this young player: “He still has a lot to improve, which is normal at this age. Mainoo has performed very well, especially after returning from a period of limited play and quickly regaining his rhythm.”
