The Vietnam National Team officially begins training today to prepare for the friendly match against Bangladesh and the match against Malaysia on March 31.

According to the plan, the Vietnam National Team will be divided into three groups assembling from March 21 to 24 at the Grand Plaza Hotel (Hanoi).
Group 1 assembles this morning, March 21, with players from Hanoi FC, Nam Dinh, Hai Phong, Hoang Anh Gia Lai clubs, including two naturalized players Do Hoang Hen and Nguyen Xuan Son.
Group 2 assembles on March 22 with players from Ninh Binh and The Cong Viettel clubs, as these teams are busy with National Cup matches. This group includes Dang Van Lam, Nguyen Hoang Duc, Khuat Van Khang, and Truong Tien Anh.
The final group assembles on March 24 with players from Cong An Hanoi Club, including Nguyen Filip, Nguyen Quang Hai, Doan Van Hau, Tran Dinh Trong, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Le Pham Thanh Long. Previously, this group was busy playing a postponed V-League match against Da Nang on March 22.
On March 26, the Vietnam National Team will play a friendly match against Bangladesh at Hang Day Stadium (Hanoi). Afterwards, the team will move to Ninh Binh to prepare for the match against Malaysia on March 31.
Tien Linh Allows Khoa Ngo to Take the Penalty Kick.
Khoa Ngo successfully converted a penalty kick, helping Cong An TP.HCM Club win in the National Cup quarter-finals. This Vietnamese-Australian player revealed that senior teammate Tien Linh allowed him to take this penalty kick.

Khoa Ngo earned a penalty for Truong Tuoi Dong Nai in the 76th minute when defender Huynh Tan Sinh fouled him inside the box, and he successfully converted it himself.
"Regarding the penalty situation, I discussed it with Tien Linh. He said if I felt confident, I should take the penalty. I felt confident so I accepted to shoot.
I can play comfortably on any pitch. When I have teammates like Peter Makrillos in midfield, it gives me even more confidence.
We have only reached the semi-finals and need to continue playing well to reach the final match," Khoa Ngo shared after the game.
Not only playing well and scoring in his first National Cup 2025-2026 appearance, Khoa Ngo has also been outstanding in V-League 2025-2026. He has scored 3 goals in 5 appearances (4 as starter).
Bangladesh Brings Premier League Player to Vietnam.
Head coach Javier Penato has officially finalized the 23-player squad for the match against the Vietnam National Team on March 26 at Hang Day Stadium.

From a preliminary list of 38 players, the Bangladesh national team squad has been reduced to 23 players, who will play friendly matches against Vietnam and then Singapore.
The most notable player in the Bangladesh squad is midfielder Hamza Choudhury, who previously played for Leicester City in the Premier League. Choudhury joined "The Foxes" at age 7, played 7 matches for England U21, and contributed significantly to Leicester winning the FA Cup 2020-2021, the English Super Cup 2021, and the Championship title 2023-2024.
Besides Choudhury, the Bangladesh squad also possesses several other players with European and North American backgrounds: defender Tariq Kazi (developed in Finland, played for national youth teams), midfielder Zayyan Ahmed (born in the USA), Fahamedul Islam (experienced in Italy), Shamit Shome (played for Canada national team before choosing Bangladesh), Kirmanee Shah (Canada), Jamal Bhuyan (Denmark).
