After a relatively balanced first half, Barcelona exploded incredibly after the break to conclude the Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Newcastle with a score... 7-2.
Arriving at Camp Nou with the baggage of a 1-1 draw from the first leg, Newcastle started with great determination. They twice brought the match back to equilibrium thanks to Anthony Elanga's double, after Raphinha and Marc Bernal successively scored for the home team. But before the first half ended, Lamine Yamal successfully executed a penalty to raise the score to 3-2, giving Barcelona a temporary advantage but still leaving hope for the English representative.
Nevertheless, the situation completely changed after the break. Barcelona increased pressure and punished Newcastle's loose defense with a series of goals. Fermin Lopez put his name on the scoreboard after a smooth combination, before Robert Lewandowski shone with a double. Between them was Raphinha's second goal, concluding a brilliant day for the Brazilian forward.

Elanga scored a double in this match...
Earlier, right from the start of the match, Barcelona showed sharpness by exploiting opponent mistakes to open the scoring. However, Newcastle also demonstrated fighting spirit as Elanga quickly equalized from close range. The tug-of-war continued with Bernal's goal, before Elanga completed his double thanks to Harvey Barnes's assist, following a mistake from Yamal himself.
The turning point came in first-half stoppage time when VAR determined Kieran Trippier committed a foul in the penalty area. From the 11-meter spot, Yamal kept his composure to score, thereby "redeeming" himself after the earlier mistake.

... but still could not help Barcelona avoid a heavy defeat at Camp Nou
In the second half, Barcelona completely dominated the game. Raphinha continued to play a central role in attacks, repeatedly assisting and directly scoring, causing Newcastle's defense to collapse. Jacob Ramsey's mistake further deepened the visitors' predicament.
Closing the match with a resounding 7-2 victory, Barcelona proudly secured a ticket to the Champions League quarter-finals with an aggregate score of 8-3.
