Center-back Lê Nguyên Hoàng stated that the Vietnamese U23 team is focusing on preparations for the friendly tournament in China. He also highly praised the Vietnamese-origin player Antonio Moric.
On the afternoon of March 18, the Vietnamese U23 national team began their second training session in preparation for the friendly tournament in China. Speaking to the media before the training session, player Lê Nguyên Hoàng said:
"The whole team just had our first training yesterday. In this training camp, there are many new unfamiliar players, so we haven't fully gotten used to each other yet. We are still quite unfamiliar and haven't fully adapted to the coach's training plan."
Lê Nguyên Hoàng is one of the most experienced players in this training camp, having had many opportunities to play in the V-League. With the experience he has accumulated, Nguyên Hoàng shared: "By playing many matches, I have also learned a lot of experience and matured more. I will try to apply what I have accumulated in the upcoming tournament."
When asked whether he might be given the captain's armband by coach Đinh Hồng Vinh, the SLNA center-back said: "It might be very difficult because the whole team has just gathered," he said. "If I were to wear the captain's armband, it would be an honor for me, and I would try my best."
Speaking about the player Croatian-Vietnamese - Antonio Moric, Nguyên Hoàng commented: "Through two training sessions, I highly appreciate his skills and basic technique. I hope he adapts well in this training camp so that he can also be present in future camps."
"His communication ability is very good, even better than Vadim Nguyễn. However, since we just joined up, we haven't had the chance to talk too much yet," Nguyên Hoàng added.
Finally, the player born in 2005 also revealed that the whole team had a meeting with coach Đinh Hồng Vinh: "The whole team had a meeting, the coach exchanged with the entire team. The opponents in this tournament are all strong ones. We will strive to perform well to accumulate much experience, thereby building a foundation for the upcoming process."
