Vietnam National Team officially secures spot for Asian Cup Finals

According to AFC's decision, the Malaysian team was penalized with a 0-3 loss in two matches against Nepal (25/3/2025) and Vietnam (10/6/2025). This penalty was applied under Article 25.1 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code due to Malaysia using an ineligible player, regardless of the actual match results.

Malaysia lost 6 points, dropping from 15 to 9 points, and their goal difference decreased from +14 to +2 (9 goals scored, 7 goals conceded). Conversely, the Vietnam team was awarded a 3-0 win, raising their total points to 15 and improving their goal difference from +6 to +13 (14 goals scored, 1 goal conceded), thereby moving to the top of the group.
