Champions League Results: First English Team Advances to Quarter-Finals, Real Madrid and PSG Secure Progress

The initial four clubs advancing to the Champions League quarter-finals this season were determined after the series of matches held in the early hours today.

The most shocking result of the day belongs to Sporting Lisbon, as they overturned a 0-3 deficit against Bodo/Glimt from the first leg. A 5-0 victory in the return match enabled the Portuguese representative to progress.

Inacio scored in the 34th minute to open the scoring for Sporting Lisbon. In the second half, Goncalves and Luis Suarez added goals, giving the hosts a 3-0 lead. Sporting Lisbon becomes the fifth team in Champions League history to reverse a deficit of three or more goals in a knockout round. According to the draw, Sporting Lisbon will face Arsenal in the quarter-finals.
