Luis Enrique is satisfied after Paris Saint-Germain defeated Chelsea FC, but warns the team cannot maintain a flawless winning streak throughout the long season.
Following the impressive victory over Chelsea, coach Luis Enrique shared notable insights about Paris Saint-Germain's performance and the squad situation at this crucial stage of the season.
Speaking after the match, the Spanish strategist could not hide his satisfaction with his players, especially the attacking line. “My attacking options are demonstrating their quality. I am very happy to have such players, but whenever I select the lineup, they must prove that ability is the spirit of this collective,” he emphasized.
Under Luis Enrique's guidance, PSG is showing the image of a team with strong internal competitiveness. No starting spot is guaranteed, and that helps the French capital club maintain stable form in the UEFA Champions League.
Alongside praise, the former Barcelona coach also frankly acknowledged the difficulties the team faces during the congested fixture period. “This is a very long season with too many injuries and big matches. It's hard to win every game, because in football that is almost impossible,” Enrique shared.
Nevertheless, he remains optimistic about the road ahead as PSG has advanced deep in the Champions League and maintains its position in domestic competitions. “We are in the final phase of the season and the whole team feels satisfied with what has been achieved,” he added.
One of the concerns is the condition of the attacking players, particularly Nuno Mendes and Bradley Barcola. Addressing injury worries, Luis Enrique reassured: “Nothing serious. We need to wait for further examination results, but everything is fine.”
The victory over Chelsea not only confirmed PSG's strength but also revealed the formidable depth of the squad. With many stars performing at a high level and tactical flexibility, the French team is emerging as a strong contender for the Champions League title this season.
If they continue to maintain the competitive spirit and stability as they have now, PSG can certainly dream of successfully defending their European crown.
