Forward Noel Mbo leaves PVF-CAND after an unsuccessful trial, quickly heading to China to join Guangxi Hengcheng for a new opportunity.
Having failed to secure a place at PVF-CAND, forward Noel Mbo swiftly redirected his career path by officially joining Guangxi Hengcheng Club, a team competing in China's First Division League. This is seen as a new turning point for the striker once valued around 8 billion VND in the transfer market.
At the end of 2025, PVF-CAND actively trialed several foreign players to strengthen the squad for the second half of the 2025/2026 season. Among them, Noel Mbo was a name that received high expectations due to his international playing experience and impressive physical foundation. However, despite his efforts to perform, the 1998-born forward could not convince the coaching staff to secure a formal contract.
Previously, Noel Mbo was not unfamiliar with Vietnamese football. In the 2024/2025 season, he played for Hong Linh Ha Tinh and delivered a relatively stable performance. After 18 appearances, this forward scored 4 goals and contributed 3 assists, helping the team finish in 5th place in the V-League. Nevertheless, he was not offered a contract extension after the season ended.
After leaving Ha Tinh, Noel Mbo continued his journey in Vietnam by joining Ho Chi Minh City Police Club in August. However, his time with this team was quite brief as they parted ways after only about a month, making his career in the V-League rather turbulent.
Moving to Guangxi Hengcheng opens a new opportunity for the 1.85m tall forward. Notably, this Chinese club has drawn attention for being willing to spend large sums to pursue Vietnamese players. With his powerful style of play and good independent attacking ability, Noel Mbo is expected to regain his form in this new environment.
Before coming to Asia, Noel Mbo had played in Europe for clubs such as Helsingborg, Dziugas, and Panevezys. He also participated in UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers, demonstrating his experience at the international level. Although he hasn't proven himself in Vietnam, this forward still has the chance to prove his worth in China.
