CSL standings in turmoil: Newcomer makes history by topping the table, Taishan secures dramatic win over Guoan, Zhejiang draws 1-1 with Shenhua.

On March 15 Beijing time, the second round of the Chinese Super League commenced. Four fixtures wrapped up last night, including heavyweight encounters. Shandong Taishan toppled Beijing Guoan 2-1, Zhejiang settled for a 1-1 draw with Shenhua, the promoted side Chongqing edged Liaoning 1-0, and Shenzhen clinched an economical 1-0 win against Tianjin. This upheaval reshuffles the standings: Chongqing, unbeaten in two matches, ascends to first place, Chengdu falls to second, Shenzhen occupies fourth, Shandong Taishan's points reset to zero ranking fifth, and Guoan sits 11th!

Shandong versus Beijing Guoan. Shandong Taishan faced immense pressure this season starting with a -6 point deficit. They swept the newcomer Liaoning 3-0 in the first round, reducing the penalty to -3 points. Hosting the strong opponent Beijing Guoan this round, both teams engaged in a fierce and balanced contest. The first half ended 0-0, but in the second half, Crysan assisted Xie Weneng to score, breaking the deadlock. Guoan's Zhang Yuning quickly equalized. In the final moments, Crysan stepped up to deliver a decisive winning goal, contributing both an assist and a strike. Ultimately, Taishan secured a 2-1 dramatic victory over Guoan, earning 6 points over two matches and swiftly resetting their points to zero!

Chongqing versus Liaoning. Two CSL newcomers clashed, both having lost their opening matches, thus each seeking their first historic win this round. Chongqing displayed fiery form, dominating Liaoning throughout, though failing to score in the first half. Liaoning ended the first half with zero shots. In the second half, Chongqing pressed forward; a Liaoning player committed a malicious foul, earning Kenpanu a red card. Subsequently, Kenpanu executed a splendid curling free kick "banana shot" to score. Chongqing defeated Liaoning 1-0, securing their first CSL victory and making history. Unbeaten in two rounds with 4 points, they happily claim a temporary top spot experience card!

Zhejiang versus Shenhua. In this match, Shenhua, playing away, took the lead by scoring first, seizing initiative. However, Zhejiang rallied and managed to equalize with a goal. Eventually, both sides drew 1-1, each gaining a point, a satisfactory outcome for both!

Shenzhen versus Tianjin. Tianjin is an experienced CSL side, but this season faces trials, starting with a -10 point penalty and immense relegation pressure. They drew 0-0 with Chongqing in the first round, gaining one point, currently at -9 points. Away against Shenzhen this round, they were overwhelmed by Shenzhen, showing little fighting spirit. Shenzhen relied on Wesley's goal to clinch a 1-0 last-gasp victory, celebrating their first win of the new season!
