Malaysian football undergoes significant changes ahead of rematch with Vietnam national team

Malaysia's renowned national stadium, Bukit Jalil, has officially been renamed following a cooperation agreement between Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia and Telekom Malaysia.

According to Makanbola, the stadium renaming information was announced by Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM) via an announcement on their official platforms. Accordingly, Malaysia's Bukit Jalil Stadium has officially been renamed to TM Stadium Nasional.

The renaming of SNBJ is part of a stadium naming rights agreement between PSM and the national telecommunications company Telekom Malaysia. Not only SNBJ, Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil has also been renamed. Previously known as Axiata Arena, it will now bear the new name Unifi Arena.

PSM stated in the announcement: "This three-year strategic partnership aims to enhance sustainability and upgrade the stadium's facilities, thereby enabling the venue to continue serving as a premier location for international sports and entertainment events."

Telekom Malaysia's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, believes this is a mutually beneficial partnership. He shared: "Over eight decades, Telekom Malaysia has played a vital role in connecting Malaysians across generations. We are honored to be granted the naming rights for this iconic national venue and deeply appreciate that trust."

"Stadium Nasional and Stadium Putra have long been gathering places for Malaysians to cheer, celebrate successes, and witness historic moments. Through this partnership, we hope to further strengthen these two stadiums so they remain community hubs and inspire national pride for future generations."

According to the agreement, the stadium naming rights arrangement between Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia and Telekom Malaysia will last for a period of three years.
