Juventus is determined to retain coach Luciano Spalletti, presenting a specific contract extension proposal.

Italian sources report that the talks regarding a new contract between Juventus and head coach Luciano Spalletti are showing positive developments.

The Turin-based club is said to have prepared two different contract options for the Italian strategist to consider in the coming period.

Spalletti was appointed as Juventus's head coach on October 30, signing a short-term contract valid until the end of the 2025-26 season. He was brought in to replace Igor Tudor, who subsequently moved to coach Tottenham Hotspur. The decision to appoint Spalletti was seen as a step to stabilize the dressing room and improve the team's performance after a period of decline.

Juventus prepares to extend Spalletti's contract

Since taking over the coaching role, Spalletti has helped Juventus achieve a clear improvement in match results. However, the "Old Lady's" journey in this season's UEFA Champions League ended after a defeat to Galatasaray. Despite being eliminated from Europe's most prestigious competition, Juventus's overall form under Spalletti is still evaluated quite positively.

Currently, the Turin club is fiercely competing with AS Roma and Como 1907 for a top 4 spot in Serie A, thereby securing a place in next season's Champions League. However, according to recent reports from Italian media, Spalletti's future at Juventus likely will not entirely depend on whether the team finishes the season in the top four.

According to updated information on Thursday from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the contract extension negotiations between the two parties are proceeding smoothly. Currently, Juventus has presented two specific options for Spalletti to choose from.

The first option is a 12-month contract, effective until the end of the 2026-27 season, with an option to extend for an additional year. If this option is chosen, Spalletti is said to receive a salary of approximately 6 million euros per season, plus around 1 million euros in bonuses depending on performance.

Meanwhile, the second option is a fixed-term two-year contract. However, the salary in this case would be slightly lower, around 5 million euros per season. Although the income is slightly reduced, this choice offers Spalletti greater stability in terms of job security and long-term earnings.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport's assessment, at present both Juventus and Spalletti seem to lean towards the first option – the one-year contract with an extension clause – as it provides certain flexibility for both sides in the future.
