FIFA expands investigation into Malaysia national team's citizenship fraud case, revealing six implicated individuals.

At least six representatives will be investigated by FIFA regarding the falsification of documents for seven naturalized players of the Malaysia national team.

The six representatives mentioned include Nicolas Puppo, Frederico Moraes, Ivan Cristovinho, Federico Raspanti, Flavio Alexandre, and Ronald Vega. According to sources, the names of these six international representatives are referenced in FIFA's previously published "Motivated Decision" document.

In FIFA's announcement, Puppo, Cristovinho, and Raspanti are described as individuals with direct connections to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), while Moraes is named as another representative who facilitated communication between players and Malaysian football authorities.

The report also mentions an "unidentified intermediary," as some players stated they entrusted all document processing and eligibility-related paperwork to their representative or an unnamed individual.

More individuals could be implicated in Malaysia national team's citizenship fraud scandal as FIFA plans to extend the investigation into the roles of agents and intermediaries involved in this controversial naturalization process.

This move aligns with previous recommendations from FIFA's Appeals Committee, which proposed deeper investigations into certain agents alleged to have assisted in communication and document handling between players and FAM.

Last week, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) dismissed the appeal filed by FAM and the seven related players in this case.

The players—Joao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal, Hector Hevel, Gabriel Palmero, Imanol Machuca, Facundo Garces, and Rodrigo Holgado—challenged FIFA's decision after being found guilty of falsifying documents related to eligibility criteria for Malaysia.

This ruling means FIFA's initial penalties remain effective, including a 350,000 Swiss franc fine (approximately 1.8 million RM) against FAM, along with a 12-month suspension starting from last September for the aforementioned players, barring them from official matches.

However, these players are still permitted to engage in other activities with their clubs during the suspension period.
