Manchester United Poised to Sign Another Real Madrid Player? Reports Suggest "Dreaming of United" Midfielder Available for Just £45 Million! West Ham's Tough Defender Also Under Scrutiny

After Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, Manchester United acquired several star players from Real Madrid, such as Angel Di Maria, Casemiro, and Raphael Varane. Currently, another Real Madrid player is being connected to the Red Devils, with French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga reportedly a possible transfer target once more.

It is claimed that Real Madrid is prepared to sell this 23-year-old French stalwart for €50 million (£45 million). Camavinga's price could even drop further, potentially to €40 million! Several Premier League clubs have expressed interest, including Manchester United. Camavinga can play not only as a midfielder but also as a left-back, a position where Erik ten Hag's squad currently lacks depth.

Camavinga is also said to have a "dream of playing for United," as his father is a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. "Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world. My father is a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, so I often watched their matches on TV as a child. Now United has Bruno Fernandes, a great midfielder, and it would be an honor to play alongside him."

Another French midfielder from Real Madrid, Aurélien Tchouaméni, is also a player frequently linked with Manchester United, reportedly under consideration by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's team for this summer. However, Camavinga's injury record might concern United; since 2025, he has been sidelined five times due to injuries.

Besides Camavinga, Portuguese midfielder Matheus Fernandes from Premier League side West Ham United is also said to have attracted Manchester United's attention, with scouts observing him in multiple matches. If West Ham unfortunately faces relegation, the 21-year-old M. Fernandes would seek a departure, with his transfer fee likely ranging between €65 million and €75 million (£56 million to £65 million). United considers £40 million a reasonable price; his agent is Jorge Mendes.

According to the UK's "The Sun," Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS team still prefers players with Premier League experience, such as Sandro Tonali (Newcastle), Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace), Alex Scott (Bournemouth), and Carlos Baleba (Brighton), all being targets of interest for Manchester United.

Manchester United is certain to sign two new midfielders in the summer window, so as the season approaches, various midfield players are being linked with joining the Red Devils, which is unsurprising. The club's goal is to reclaim the Premier League title before the 150th anniversary in 2028, necessitating increased investment.

Moreover, in a few years, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe needs to borrow funds to build a new stadium, United may have to tighten their belts and refrain from high-priced signings. According to British media reports, due to construction delays and disputes over the proposed land price, the cost of Manchester United's new stadium is expected to soar above £3 billion, a 50% increase from the originally estimated £2 billion!

Sir Jim Ratcliffe announced a £2 billion plan for a new 100,000-seat stadium a year ago. However, acquiring the land for the stadium has proven challenging; the owner of the land United is interested in, "Freightliner," demands £400 million, eight times the £50 million offer from Sir Jim.

Applying for a compulsory purchase order could determine the price and advance the project, but building the new stadium envisioned by Manchester United might take up to 10 years to complete. During this period, rising costs could continuously drive up the construction price.

A stadium expert told UK's "The Sun": "Currently, the cost of Manchester United's new stadium has already exceeded £3 billion, and the price will only continue to rise. Such large-scale projects do not become cheaper; they inevitably become more expensive. Moreover, the number of companies capable of undertaking such major stadium projects is limited. Even if everything proceeds smoothly, constructing this stadium will require 10 years to complete. Additionally, Sir Jim Ratcliffe's recent controversial statements could increase difficulties, influencing decisions by authorities and the public."
