Manchester United's deal to sell right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United has been delayed due to Inter Milan's involvement, who are also interested in the 26-year-old Spider-Man but would prefer him to join for free next year. United Kingdom Football Insider says the deal has now been complicated.
It is reported that Inter will also consider bringing in Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer if necessary, with a clearer picture of the situation likely ahead of the Premier League opening on 16 August. However, the reigning Serie A champions have not made any bids so far and they are not in a hurry as Aaron Wan-Bissaka only has one year left on his contract.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka himself would prefer to move abroad, with Inter Milan being a good option as they are strong in Serie A and have a chance to compete for the Champions League. West Ham's recent offer of £10 million was accepted by Manchester United, and although the club wanted £15 million, they were unable to get such a bid and Inter would not have paid the money. Inter are very good at "white wolves with empty gloves", and they have signed the likes of De Vrij, Mkhitaryan, Sanchez, Calhanoglu, Cuadrado, Onana, Marcus · Thuram, Zielinski and Taremi for free in recent years. Among them, Sanchez was signed from Manchester United, while Onana was later sold to the Red Devils for 50 million euros.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who joined United from Crystal Palace for £50 million in 2019, is in no hurry to decide on the future. He won't be a regular at Manchester United, with Diogu · Darlow being Ten Hag's first choice, making as many 30 appearances last season, mainly because left-back Malacia was out for the season, Luke · Shaw was also injured four times, and Darlow made more cameos at left wing-back.
Ten Hag wants to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has only one year left on his contract and is reluctant to renew his contract, and bring in Bayern Munich full-back Mazraoui, who is more adept at handling and assisting. But the joining of the latter, depending on the departure of Wan-Bissaka, is a chain reaction. Interestingly, West Ham had also planned to bring in Mazraoui and the transfer fee was agreed, but the negotiations broke down due to the commission issue of his agent, so they turned to Wan-Bissaka. While Inter are in the way, West Ham are confident of completing the Aaron Wan-Bissaka deal.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has revealed that four injuries in the last two warm-up games will not speed up the transfer of the team. He declared that he already had confidence in his current squad: "I think we have caught up and have the ability to compete with the best teams in England. Then, you try to compete with the best teams in the world, like Real Madrid, which is a very good team. But the Premier League is a very high level and we have the ability to compete with our opponents, which is already good.'
"The challenge now is to do this more consistently, and how we do that has a lot to do with the culture. The main thing is the culture of victory, how to build this. I think we have a foundation in place now, we have a new management team, we have a new coaching staff, we have new players."
But Ten Hag stresses that young United need patience but must also keep building and improving. The United boss said: "That's a fair point. We have to build. We have a very talented group of players and we are very happy to have these players and I think they are also real Manchester United players. There are some players who are uncertain, but they are young and already have the experience to win trophies. We have to build on that, but for the young players there will be ups and downs and we have to be aware of that.'
The 54-year-old Netherlands concluded: "Everyone inside the club has to be aware of this, and so should your media outside of the club. It's normal, not only for young people, but especially for young players. Sometimes they slip a little bit, and then the key is whether they have the ability to bounce back. and at a high level."
For Wan-Bissaka, one of his problems is that he has not improved enough, and has relied on physical strength and tackling for many years, lacking improvement in terms of technique, tactics and awareness. Even after the transfer, if you want to develop more, you have to improve these areas.
