Barcelona: Knock-out punches in the return match

Barcelona left England with a sense of relief after drawing 1-1 with the home team Newcastle. However, coach Hansi Flick's team needs to deliver more precise punches in the return match.

Barcelona's Problem

The defensive system will need to continue playing like that in the return match. Specifically, they need to enhance attacking power on both wings to help wing forwards operate deeper in the opponent's penalty area. However, how to sharpen the attack and improve midfield connectivity remains the challenge for the German strategist.

Newcastle's physical style forces opponents to be very careful with the ball, play fast and accurately, and be very strong in duels to avoid losing possession, a tactic Barcelona can master if Pedri receives better support from surrounding players.

In the first match, Barca was more effective in counter-attacks than in the ball-control style associated with Pedri. Meanwhile, Yamal's movements created gaps in Newcastle's defense, so in the return match next week, the 61-year-old coach needs a striker sharp in exploiting spaces and certainly accurate in finishing.
