The preliminary list of players called up for the Vietnam national team could exceed 30, while the U23 Vietnam team might summon up to 50 names.

The Vietnam national team will play a crucial match against Malaysia on March 31st as part of the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Prior to that, coach Kim Sang Sik and his squad will have a warm-up friendly against Bangladesh at Hang Day Stadium on March 26th to fine-tune the lineup and tactics.

To prepare for these matches, coach Kim Sang Sik has drafted a preliminary list of approximately 30 players for the Vietnam national team. The official list has not yet been announced by the Vietnam Football Federation, but many clubs have proactively revealed their players who have been called up.

Alongside the national team's gathering, the U23 Vietnam team is also preparing to assemble with a very large number of players. According to information from clubs, the preliminary list for U23 Vietnam this time could reach nearly 50 players, including many young faces receiving their first opportunity.

If counting both teams, the total number of players summoned in March could reach around 80. This is considered a record number for Vietnamese football in a single training camp, indicating the coaching staff's broad-scale player evaluation plan.

At the national team level, CAHN Club contributes the most with 8 names including Van Do, Van Hau, Dinh Trong, Cao Pendant Quang Vinh, Le Pham Thanh Long, Quang Hai, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, and goalkeeper Nguyen Filip. Notably, the return of Van Hau and Dinh Trong – two players who were key pillars under coach Park Hang Seo but were absent for a long time due to injuries.

Additionally, Ninh Binh has 5 players including Dang Van Lam, Truong Tien Anh, Le Ngoc Bao, Nguyen Hoang Duc, and Nguyen Duc Chien. Ho Chi Minh City Police contributes 3 names: Nguyen Tien Linh, Dinh Thanh Binh, and goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang. Furthermore, The Cong Viettel has Khuat Van Khang, Phan Tuan Tai; Hai Phong has Nguyen Nhat Minh, Nguyen Dinh Trieu; while Nam Dinh has Nguyen Xuan Son and Nguyen Van Vi.
