Kvaratskhelia scores twice, PSG crushes Chelsea in Paris

PSG defeated Chelsea 5-2 in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia shining brightly at the end of the match to help the French side secure a significant advantage.

PSG started proactively and scored the opening goal in the 10th minute. From a cross into the box, Joao Neves headed the ball favorably for Bradley Barcola to rush in and finish accurately, putting the hosts ahead 1-0.

Chelsea quickly responded. In the 28th minute, Enzo Fernandez delivered a precise lofted pass for Malo Gusto to break down and fire a decisive shot into the left corner of the goal, equalizing the score 1-1.

The match continued openly, and PSG regained the advantage before the first half ended. In the 40th minute, Ousmane Dembele exploited a fast counter-attack situation, skillfully handled the ball inside the box and finished from close range to increase the score to 2-1.

Moving into the second half, Chelsea played with determination and scored a tying goal in the 57th minute. Pedro Neto assisted for Enzo Fernandez to rush in and finish with a one-touch shot inside the box, bringing the match back to a balanced state of 2-2.

However, the turning point came in the 74th minute when goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen made a mistake in handling the ball. Vitinha quickly seized the ball and easily scored, helping PSG lead again 3-2. Chelsea pushed forward seeking an equalizer and even put the ball into the net in the 79th minute, but Joao Pedro's goal was disallowed due to an offside foul after VAR intervention.

While the visitors were still struggling to stabilize their formation, PSG delivered the finishing blow. In the 86th minute, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia executed a skillful dribble before unleashing a dangerous shot from the edge of the box, raising the score to 4-2.

In the 4th minute of added time, the Georgian forward continued to make his mark with an accurate one-touch finish inside the box, sealing the 5-2 victory for PSG. Although Kang-In Lee had previously put the ball into the net, the goal was not recognized due to offside.

The emphatic 5-2 victory gives PSG a significant advantage ahead of the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
