Vietnamese Consulate General in Perth encourages women's team on March 8th

Representatives from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Perth city, along with many Vietnamese community members and supporters in Western Australia state, visited and encouraged the female players on March 8th afternoon, coinciding with International Women's Day.

Additionally, the delegation also "boosted morale" for Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team ahead of their final group stage match against Japan in the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup Finals.

The meeting took place in a warm atmosphere. Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Consul General in Perth Nguyen Thanh Ha expressed pride in the resilient spirit of the female players, and on behalf of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Perth and the Vietnamese community in Western Australia, conveyed the most heartfelt congratulations to the coaching staff and all players of the Vietnamese women's football team on International Women's Day.

On behalf of the coaching staff, Coach Mai Duc Chung expressed his emotion regarding the attention from the Consulate General and the affection from the Vietnamese community in Australia.

Coach Mai Duc Chung shared: "When we travel far from our homeland to compete in another country, we are deeply moved to receive the care and encouragement from the Consulate General and our compatriots in Perth city, especially on International Women's Day.

The enthusiastic support from the community and fans has provided significant motivation for the players. The entire team will continue to prepare thoroughly in terms of skills and spirit for the upcoming match, with the highest determination to play wholeheartedly for the national colors, for the spirit of Vietnam, and for the spirit of Vietnamese women."

According to the schedule, the Vietnamese women's team will have their decisive match against Japan at 5:00 PM local time on March 10th (4:00 PM Vietnam time) at Perth Rectangular Stadium.
