Dinh Quang Kiet and Nguyen Minh Tam are the next two players called up to the Vietnam U23 team to participate in a friendly tournament in China.
According to information from Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club, two players from the mountain city team are forward Nguyen Minh Tam and defender Dinh Quang Kiet, who have been named by Coach Kim Sang Sik in the call-up list for the Vietnam U23 team to participate in a friendly tournament in China next March.
While the "tall pillar" Dinh Quang Kiet has previously appeared multiple times in the preliminary training lists of Vietnam U23, for Minh Tam this is his first opportunity to join the national team. The striker born in 2005 is showing clear progress wearing the jersey of the mountain city team this season.
Up to now, Minh Tam has played 11 matches for HAGL, including 8 starts and scoring 3 goals. This achievement temporarily makes the 1.81m tall forward the top scorer for the mountain city team since the start of the season.
Being called up to the Vietnam U23 team is seen as a deserved reward for Minh Tam's efforts, and also opens an opportunity for him to further prove himself in the competitive environment of the national team level.
Besides the pair of players from HAGL, Coach Kim Sang Sik has also given opportunities to 5 players from SLNA Club including Cao Van Binh, Nguyen Trong Tuan, Le Nguyen Hoang, Nguyen Quang Vinh, and Le Dinh Long Vu.
According to the plan, Vietnam U23 will participate in the CFA Team China - Xi'an 2026 international friendly tournament held in China in late March. The tournament gathers four teams: host China, North Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Initially, the tournament included Iran U23. However, due to the situation in the Middle East region, this team decided to withdraw. The Chinese Football Association subsequently sent an invitation, and Vietnam U23 was selected as the replacement to participate in the tournament.
