Chinese Taipei Coach: 'We Must Defeat the Vietnamese Team'

Coach Prasobchoke of the Chinese Taipei women's team declared a victory over the Vietnamese women's team in the second match of Group C, AFC Asian Cup 2026 finals.

Despite losing 0-2 to Japan in their opening match, Coach Prasobchoke Chokemor of the Chinese Taipei team remains confident that his players will regain their form for the upcoming match against the Vietnamese women's team.

"After the defeat, our goal is to bounce back," Prasobchoke said at the pre-match press conference. "The focus now is to maintain morale, keep faith, and approach the next match with confidence."

In the opening match, Coach Chokemor employed a deep defensive formation against Japan. However, for the match against Vietnam, the Thai strategist anticipates making adjustments to the lineup.

"We are not worried about the tactics to use against Vietnam. My priority is to establish the core principle – playing to win. The methods of execution may vary. Each match is different, but the fundamental mindset remains the same. You must always play to win."

Finally, the Thai strategist also praised his team's goalkeeper, Wang Yu-ting, and affirmed that she will help Chinese Taipei achieve a good result against Vietnam.

"Our goalkeeper Wang Yu-ting performed excellently against Japan. She is still very young, but this experience will help her mature. I believe she can become one of Asia's top goalkeepers."

For his part, Coach Mai Duc Chung of the Vietnamese women's team stated: "In this group stage, we must continue to fight to advance. Taiwan has experienced players; they have improved a lot in the past four months. We must maintain our focus and give our all if we want to go far in this tournament."

The match between the Vietnamese team and Chinese Taipei will take place at 12:00 on March 7th.
