Indonesian fans collectively mention the Vietnam national team after FAM's appeal fails

Indonesian fans expressed diverse opinions after the Court of Arbitration for Sport dismissed the appeal from the Football Association of Malaysia.

On Southeast Asian football forums, numerous Indonesian supporters left contrasting comments when CAS rejected FAM's appeal regarding the case of the seven naturalized players. Most fans from the archipelago nation believe Malaysia clearly committed an offense and deserved this outcome.

"Malaysia wanted to defeat Vietnam so badly that they employed every trick to turn that dream into reality," commented one fan.

"The final episode of the series 'FAKE FAM and the Seven Clowns.'"

"They still could not produce the documents, ultimately admitting they requested no punishment for the player, but were refused because the player was not a descendant."

"FIFA, please punish them more severely for daring to oppose that decision."

Some others extended congratulations to the Vietnam national team: "Congratulations to the Vietnam national team for securing qualification for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 in Saudi Arabia." "See you again, Vietnam, at the Asian Cup finals," "Vietnam deserves the ticket to advance."

Another account from Indonesia expressed concern over whether Malaysian clubs would face penalties in Asian competitions: "I wonder if JDT will face any punishment in the Shopee Cup 2025-2026? How many foreign players did they use in each match? So, is JDT still eligible for the semifinals?"

Meanwhile, a small portion of fans agreed with CAS's decision, which allowed the seven players the right to train and participate with their host clubs: "A fair decision for those seven players. They still have the chance to continue their careers as long as they are provided conditions to train."

Currently, regional public attention is focused on the final decision by the Asian Football Confederation regarding the Malaysian national team in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
