Manchester United to Sell One Player and Sign New Left Winger in Summer Transfer Window! Carrick's Management Leads to Surge in Jersey Sales, Aiming for £200 Million

Under Carrick's management, Manchester United has climbed to third in the standings, and his comeback could further boost the club's jersey sales to unprecedented levels. The 44-year-old tactician has gone unbeaten in nine games over two spells, matching the Premier League's all-time record, restoring faith among supporters who proudly sport the club's colors again.

According to The Sun, sales at Manchester United's official store at Old Trafford have significantly recovered, with total commercial revenue projected to approach the £200 million mark this year. UEFA's latest data reveals that United has regained the top spot in the Premier League for jersey and merchandise revenue.

Last year, Manchester United generated a record £150.3 million from related sales, surpassing second-place Arsenal by over £18 million, with Arsenal earning £132 million. Liverpool ranked third with £129.4 million, while Tottenham placed fourth with £89.2 million. Chelsea was the only club among the Premier League's top eight not to see growth in jersey sales, remaining steady at £83 million.

However, despite leading the Premier League, Manchester United still lags significantly behind other global giants. With 1.855 million jerseys sold, they rank only seventh worldwide, trailing Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and even falling behind Inter Miami and Boca Juniors!

Of course, the Red Devils' revival must be gradual, and the team needs to bring in more talented and influential players. British media reports indicate that the club plans to sign a new midfielder this summer while also securing a new left winger.

Manchester United's Rashford is expected to join Barcelona permanently for €30 million this summer, while Sancho, on loan to Aston Villa, will leave upon contract expiration. Currently, United lacks a genuine left winger; 21-year-old Patrick Doku, originally a left-back, switched to left wing before his injury, and now Cunha occupies that role, though he is not a natural winger.

Both Mbeumo and Amad Diallo are left-footed but play as right wingers. Manager Carrick stated that regardless of whether he stays on permanently, he will be involved in planning the summer transfer window. He explicitly mentioned that United will sign a left winger, preferably a left-footed player.

Carrick said: "Yes, it's very likely, to some extent necessary. I believe our left flank is currently threatening and can fill the gap; we have players capable of doing that, so it's not a major issue at the moment. Matheus (Cunha) plays on the left wing, he brings threat and causes significant trouble for opponents, whether cutting inside or staying wide, he has performed excellently and done very well."

Carrick added: "I think Matheus can play that position at times, and Amad can too—he played on the left against West Ham. There are many different ways to approach it; we have plenty of good options in attack and can make changes during matches. In fact, we've already made many adjustments. Sometimes they're minor, sometimes more significant, but when Matheus takes on defenders one-on-one on the wing, he's extremely difficult to handle. Amad is also a fantastic player, and working with him is truly a pleasure. You know his attitude—he's very positive and eager. He's keen to learn and always asks for more if he wants to keep improving. 'What else can I do? How can I get better?' He's very driven to succeed, he's already been an important part of the team, and he will continue to be."

As is well known, the statement after a transition is often the most crucial. Carrick said: "However, we always aim to improve, thinking about how to blend players perfectly, build connections, and show effectiveness on the pitch. I believe you must always consider the balance of the team and squad, maximizing flexibility, so this is definitely a position to consider."

Manchester United may sell backup striker Zirkzee and injury-prone attacking midfielder Mason Mount this summer, then bring in a new winger. This would configure the forward line as follows: the new signing and Doku can play left wing; Sesko, Cunha, and Mbeumo can serve as center forwards; while Mbeumo and Amad can operate on the right wing.
