Ninh Binh assistant coach praises Xuan Son

The assistant coach of Ninh Binh FC commended forward Nguyen Xuan Son for his important goal scored on the evening of March 1st.

Ninh Binh FC officially lost their second-place position in the standings to The Cong Viettel after suffering a 2-3 comeback defeat against Nam Dinh on the evening of March 1st. Playing away from home, Ninh Binh took an early lead in the 8th minute with a goal from Do Thanh Thinh. In the 32nd minute, Hoang Duc scored, extending the lead for the Hoa Lu-based team to 2-0.

However, Ninh Binh could not maintain their advantage as the home team scored three consecutive goals afterward. Speaking after the match, Ninh Binh's assistant coach Tran Duy Quang attended the press conference in place of head coach Gerard Albadalejo, who is suspended. Mr. Quang stated:

"Ninh Binh FC scored two early goals but failed to hold onto the result, which is regrettable. The defense became complacent, allowing Nam Dinh to pull one back in the first half. That gave the opposing team more determination, making their subsequent goals inevitable."

When asked about Xuan Son—the player who equalized the score at 2-2 for Nam Dinh—the assistant coach of the ancient capital's team offered praise:"Xuan Son truly played very well. Nam Dinh FC's play largely revolves around him. Before this round, Nam Dinh had suffered many losses. I congratulate them on their victory."

In reality, this was only the first goal for Xuan Son in the V-League 2025/26 season. After undergoing injury treatment, Son returned to play in November 2025. Although he has scored 8 goals in 8 appearances across all competitions, the forward born in 1997 has been unlucky in the V-League.

For Ninh Binh, this marks their third consecutive defeat following an impressive first-leg campaign. The team lost to CAHN in round 12, HAGL in round 13, and Nam Dinh in round 14.
