Al Nassr coach speaks directly about Ronaldo's injury

Coach Jorge Jesus discussed the injury condition of Cristiano Ronaldo following Al Nassr's win against Al Fayha.

Al Nassr's coach Jorge Jesus confirmed the club will conduct medical examinations on captain Cristiano Ronaldo after he was forced to leave the pitch during the match against Al Fayha. The Portuguese superstar could only watch the final minutes from the sidelines as Al Nassr came from behind to secure a 3-1 away victory.

Speaking to the press after the match, Jorge Jesus provided an update on Ronaldo's condition following his substitution in the second half. The veteran strategist stated his compatriot experienced a muscular issue and will undergo necessary tests to determine the severity of the injury.

"Ronaldo has muscle pain, and the medical team will urgently conduct the required tests to assess his condition. We must continue winning and maintain our advantage, as the league race is intense and competition comes from every team," Coach Jesus said.

During the second half, Ronaldo showed discomfort in his hamstring area, leading to his substitution with over 10 minutes remaining. Abdullah Al-Hamdan was brought on as his replacement. After the match, the former Man Utd and Real Madrid star was seen applying ice to his hamstring.

Previously, Ronaldo had also left a match early against Al Najma earlier in the week, before the game reached the hour mark, raising concerns about his physical condition as the season enters its decisive phase.

In this match, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner also missed a penalty in the first half. Things worsened for the away side when Abdulelah Al-Amri scored an own goal in first-half stoppage time, allowing Al Fayha to take the lead.

Al Nassr struggled to break down the opponent's defense until Sadio Mane equalized in the 72nd minute with a close-range finish. Eight minutes later, Al Nassr took the lead thanks to another own goal, this time from Orlando Mosquera, shortly before Ronaldo was forced off. In the 85th minute, Joao Felix assisted substitute Abdullah Al-Hamdan to seal a 3-1 victory for Al Nassr.

This result allows Al Nassr to reclaim top spot with 61 points, two and three points ahead of Al Ahli and Al Hilal respectively.
