Vietnam is grouped with host Thailand in the 2026 ASEAN Futsal Championship.

The group stage draw ceremony was organized by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) on the afternoon of March 1 in Nonthaburi (Thailand).

Group A is considered a highly competitive group with the presence of host Thailand – a team with a rich tradition and the most achievements in ASEAN Futsal history. Meanwhile, Myanmar is also an opponent known for a very strong and challenging style of play.

The Vietnam and Thailand Futsal teams seem to have a "connection," as they have frequently been drawn into the same group in recent international tournaments. For example, in both the 2024 and 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup Finals, the draw results have consistently placed the two teams in the same group.

Group B features the defending champion Indonesia, along with the teams from Australia, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Brunei, promising to deliver many exciting developments.

Prior to the draw, the teams were divided into five seeding pots. Pot 1 included Thailand (host) and Indonesia; Pot 2 comprised Vietnam and Australia; Pot 3 consisted of Malaysia and Myanmar; Pot 4 included Timor-Leste and Cambodia; and Pot 5 was Brunei.

According to the schedule, the 2026 ASEAN Futsal Championship will take place from April 5-11, 2026, at the Nonthaburi Provincial Gymnasium (Thailand). The group stage matches will be held from April 5-7, 2026, to select the top two teams from each group for the Semifinals on April 9, 2026. The Final will be played on April 11, 2026.
