The Vietnam women's futsal team is officially dethroned as champion following their defeat to Thailand in the semifinals of the 2026 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Championship.

The efforts of the Vietnam women's futsal team were only rewarded by Thanh Ngan's goal in the 36th minute, reducing the deficit to 2-4.

Ultimately, the Vietnam women's futsal team's journey ended in the semifinals. According to the schedule, Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team will face Indonesia in the Bronze medal match, scheduled for March 2nd. Southeast Asian fans also had mixed reactions to the match result:
