The captain of the Thai women's futsal team showed wariness when facing the Vietnamese women's team in the 2026 Southeast Asian futsal semifinal round.
At 6:30 PM on February 28th, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will compete against the host nation, Thailand, in the 2026 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal semifinal.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the captain of the Thai women's futsal team, Darika Pieratjailun, stated the entire squad has reached good physical condition ahead of the crucial encounter with the Vietnamese women's futsal team. She specifically mentioned Le Thi Thanh Ngan as a dangerous factor requiring close marking.
"We are ready, and everyone has recovered well after the group stage. I think, similar to the coach, player number 6 is the one we must be especially careful of. If Thai fans come to support us, it will be a huge source of motivation and become our strength,"the captain shared.
Furthermore, she also assessed that Vietnam's current campaign has several differences compared to the previous ASEAN championship that Thailand won.
"This match series is different from when we won the ASEAN title, because Vietnam is missing some players due to injury. However, they remain a very strong team, and we need to maintain maximum focus throughout the match," she emphasized.
For his part, the head coach of the Thai futsal team, Mr. Thanathorn Santhanaprasit, declared: "Currently, the team has fully practiced all necessary aspects, both offensive and defensive, to deal with the Vietnamese team."
