The 2026 Women's Football Club Licensing Workshop is hosted by the Vietnam Football Federation in partnership with FIFA.
To implement the roadmap for professionalization and sustainable development of women's football in Vietnam, aligned with FIFA's priorities and AFC's requirements, the Women's Football Club Licensing Workshop for 2026 took place on the afternoon of February 24 at the VFF headquarters, organized by VFF in cooperation with FIFA.
On behalf of the VFF Executive Committee, Mr. Trần Anh Tú – Vice President of VFF, spoke at the opening ceremony, stating that VFF held the workshop on women's football club licensing to carry out the roadmap for professionalization and sustainable development of women's football in Vietnam, in line with FIFA's priorities and AFC's demands.
Licensing not only meets international standards but also helps improve management capacity, standardize operations, and establish a stable foundation for clubs, especially since most women's clubs still operate semi-professionally with many limitations.
VFF regards licensing as a development tool, implemented according to a roadmap suitable for Vietnam's reality. The focus includes building a feasible system; enhancing governance and youth training; increasing transparency, professionalism, and the appeal of the women's national league.
Mr. Trần Anh Tú – Vice President of VFF, affirmed that VFF will accompany clubs and hopes for proactive cooperation and consensus throughout the system to create a solid foundation for the long-term growth of women's football in Vietnam.
At the opening, Mr. Simon Toselli, FIFA's Women's Football Technical Expert, stated that the workshop aims to professionalize national women's football leagues and raise operational standards of clubs.
The 2026 Women's Football Club Licensing Workshop was held on the afternoon of February 24 and the morning of February 25 at the VFF headquarters.
