Coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàng confirmed that the Vietnam women's futsal team will strive wholeheartedly to retain the Southeast Asian championship.
On the morning of February 23, in Nakhon Ratchasima province (Thailand), a press conference was held ahead of the 2026 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Championship with the participation of the head coaches.
Speaking at the conference, the head coach of the Vietnam women's futsal team, Mr. Nguyễn Đình Hoàng, stated that the team has prepared thoroughly despite facing many challenges.
"We aim to improve and need a continuous competitive phase. Tournaments like this are very important. The team had four weeks of preparation along with a training camp in Japan, so the entire squad has worked very hard and is ready for the highest goal," he said.
According to the draw results, Vietnam was placed in a tough group with the Philippines, Myanmar, and Australia. The coach assessed that all opponents have quality and have made clear progress: "This year we are in a very strong group. There are the Philippines, Myanmar, and Australia. All teams are of high quality, and we have great respect for them."
“The schedule is very tight as we have to play three matches in three days. Therefore, fitness and recovery ability will be key factors. We are confident but also understand that defending the title is not easy because women's futsal in Southeast Asia is developing very rapidly,” Coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàngemphasized.
With systematic preparation and experience gained from international competitions, the Vietnam women's futsal team is expected to continue showing resilience and aim for top achievements in this year's tournament.
