Details from Thanh Niên Newspaper disclose that the friendly game between Vietnam National Team and Bangladesh is set to take place at Hàng Đẫy Stadium in Hanoi.
As previously reported, the Vietnam national team is expected to play a friendly match against the Bangladesh national team ahead of the match against Malaysia in the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, scheduled for March 31 at Thiên Trường Stadium (Ninh Bình).
According to the latest information from Thanh Niên Newspaper, the warm-up game against the South Asian opponent will take place at 7:00 PM on March 26. Notably, this match will be hosted at Hàng Đẫy Stadium (Hanoi) instead of Thiên Trường Stadium. Holding the friendly against Bangladesh at Hàng Đẫy, a stadium with moderate capacity and lower costs, is considered a reasonable option since the main focus of the audience will be the match against Malaysia five days later at Thiên Trường Stadium.
Meanwhile, the match against Bangladesh carries dual significance, as it helps the Vietnam National Team regain international match rhythm after a long absence, while also serving to assess the squad and test personnel for crucial upcoming matches. It is also an opportunity for the coaching staff to evaluate the form of key players as well as new faces amid a congested schedule at the end of March.
Bangladesh is not considered overwhelmingly strong as a team but features a notable star, Hamza Choudhury, a defensive midfielder currently playing in the English Championship. This player has recently completed nationality transfer procedures and quickly became a key figure in midfield, promising a solid challenge for Vietnam’s midfield in a friendly match with professional intensity.
